TORONTO HOCKEY SHOWCASE RECAP

JT Prospects Black - THS 2026 Champions

The 6th annual Toronto Hockey Showcase was held in Aurora this past weekend where 10 teams from across Ontario travelled to battle it out. Our 2026 champions were JT Prospects Black, who in the final beat the Center of Hockey Excellence (CHE) by a score of 3-0. To get to the finals, JT defeated Team North America (5-3) and CHE beat the Stouffville Spirit (6-3). All teams in the tourney played at least 4 games over 2 days with the semis and final taking place on Sunday.

Round Robin Standings

In the round robin, the 10 teams were split into two divisions. In Division A, JT Prospects Black were the clear standouts, going 3-1 and piling up an impressive 25 goals for — the most of any team in the tournament — to finish atop the division with 6 points. The Stouffville Spirit earned the second seed out of Division A with a 2-1-1 record, while Valley Elite and the Rattlers each put together respectable showings. RBA had a tough go of it, finishing the round robin winless in four games.

CHE Team and Coaching Staff - THS Finalists

Division B was slightly more competitive at the top, with CHE going unbeaten through the round robin at 3-0-1 to claim top spot with 7 points. Team North America earned the second seed out of the division with a 2-1-1 record, narrowly beating out a Georgina Ice squad to make it to the semi-final.

On the individual side, JT Prospects Black's Max Skinner (#77) was the tournament's top scorer, tucking away 5 goals and adding 3 assists for 8 points across the weekend. Teammate Michael Murphy (#87) was equally impactful with 2 goals and a tournament-high 5 assists for 7 points. Dylan Dawe (#12) of Team North America rounded out the top three with 5 goals and 6 points, while Anrijs Bundzenieks (#91) of JT Prospects Black added another 6-point effort (3G, 3A). CHE's Cameron Jansa (#9) chipped in 5 points (3G, 2A) to lead his team offensively.

Point Leaders

"All in all we are very happy with how the tournament went with all games very competitive, fast and clean. Scouts from USports, the OHL, OJHL, CCHL, NOJHL, GOJHL and GMHL were in attendance to evaluate talent and they liked what they saw of the talent pool with players ranging from 2011s to 2005s participating," said organizers Matthew Jupp and Jerome Dupont.

With another successful showcase in the books, the Toronto Hockey Showcase continues to deliver highly skilled and competitive summer hockey. The level of play, the quality of competition, and the scout turnout all speak to the tournament's growing reputation — and if this year's edition is any indication, the 7th annual event is already something to look forward to.
